A guide to posting and navigating DigitalCommons@CalPoly

Submission Instructions

Faculty may submit their works to Digital Commons using the Submit Faculty Research, Scholarship, and Creative Work to Digital Commons @ Cal Poly Form. The online form needs to completed for each work submitted. Please review the following information and then click on the Submit Your Work button below to access the online form.

Please ensure the following steps are completed prior to using the online form:

  • Please complete and sign the Contributor Agreement. This agreement only needs to be signed once. You may skip this step if you have previously signed the Contributor Agreement.
  • All non-text submissions need to be ADA compliant prior to submission. For more information on ADA compliance, please visit this link.

PLEASE NOTE: The online form for each submission must be completed in one session.

Information Needed to Complete the Online Form:

  • Determine type of submission, i.e., article, conference proceeding, book, book chapter, report, photo/image, illustrations/art, sound recordings/musical composition, video, dataset, etc.
  • Title of submission
  • Publisher information
  • File format (Click this link for accepted file formats.)
  • Keywords
  • Copyright, i.e., "Do you own copyright?", "Do you have an agreement with the publisher to share in your institutional repository?", etc.
  • Copyright details, i.e., "My publisher has allowed a post-print version to be added to my institutional repository with the following publisher statement."
  • File to upload (File size limit is 1GB.)
  • Supplemental files to upload if needed (Maximum of 5 supplemental files can be uploaded. Each supplemental file is limited to 1GB in size.)

If your submission is non-text based, you will need the following additional information:

  • Abstract
  • Additional authors/contributors and their affiliation
  • ADA compliance verification (Click this link for more information on ADA compliance.)
