The National Geophysical Data Center (NGDC), Colorado, is a part of the US Department of Commerce (USDOC), National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Environmental Satellite, Data and Information Service (NESDIS).
The NGDC comprises data gathered or generated by the BGS or its precursors, as part of its national strategic mapping programme, in addition to data provided by external organisations.
