COMPETITOR RESEARCH
Mergent Online is a database of pubilcly traded companies. Use Mergent to research your publicly traded competitors. Once you find your company look under the Reports tab to, find Annual Reports/10K, customizable Mergent Reports (company profile information in one document), and Broker Research Reports (analyst reports from Investext).
Under the Company Financials tab, you can use the dropdown menu to view data over a specified time period (between 3-year and All Available Years) . You can easily export the data to Excel.

Statista is a terrific resource to find a little bit data on just about anything. This data comes in the form of charts, so you'll have to do your own analysis as to why it is important for your assignment. Try different words in your search to make sure you're finding all the data you need:

Use First Research to find reports on your industry. Be sure to click on Browse Industry Profiles below the search box to scan for your industry if searching doesn't work.
