SPECIAL NOTE: GA Houses

We DO have most issues of GA Houses!  The call number for the whole series (look for the black binding) is:

Listing of All Kennedy Library's GA Houses

This is an amazing resource if your house is in one of the issues, but unfortunately our "FIND IT" system doesn't recognize that we have it in the library.

OLDER HOUSES: Avery Index

The Avery Index is managed by librarians and staff at the Avery Architectural & Fine Arts Library at Columbia University.  Every month, they tag thousands of articles from hundreds of architectural journals and magazines to make it easier to find what's been published via text-based search.  Everyone who is serious about architecture research uses it when they can't get what they need from the web or books.  The two Cal Poly's are the only CSU's that subscribe, which means they pay for the service Avery provides on your behalf as students.

Avery carries information from the 20th century to the present day, but the older your house is, the more likely you'll need it.

NEWER HOUSES: Google and Arch Daily

Use this technique to get line drawings to rise to the top of your Google Image searches.

Arch Daily is another great resource for newer house images.

SCANNERS

Kennedy Library has four large flatbed scanners on the 2nd floor in the back.
