What is a College Librarian? How do College Librarians support student success & the teacher-scholar model?
Cal Poly Librarians are 12-month tenured/tenure-track faculty appointments, required to meet the same standards for review, tenure and promotion as instructional faculty. A College Librarian is assigned to support and meet the needs of the faculty, staff, students and administrators of a specific College. As the Philip and Christina Bailey College of Science and Mathematics Librarian, I work with my library colleagues and the College instructional faculty to build the library's collection of physical and online resources. I provide in-person and virtual guest lectures on research skills and self-paced learning objects accessible at Research Skills & Instructional Resources. I am available to assist individual faculty, staff and students, classes and lab groups to locate resources related to their courses and scholarship.
