As you develop and focus your topic, you need to get familiar with it by doing some reading. Usually it's good to start with more general sources and then work up to more specific and detailed sources. 

Here are a few resources to help you refine your topic:

  • CQ Researcher for controversial topics
  • Newspapers and online news sources
